161 - Roman emperor Antoninus Pius dies and is succeeded by Marcus Aurelius who shares imperial power with Lucius Verus, although Marcus retains the title Pontifex Maximus.
191 - Serapion of Antioch becomes Patriarch of Antioch.
108 - In Rome, the opening of "Doctor's offices" replaces "house calls".
184 - King Gogukcheon of Goguryeo repels Han Dynasty China's invasion force, sent by the governor of Liaodong.
104 - Apollodorus of Damascus builds a stone bridge over the Danube more than 1,000 meters (3,280 ft) long, almost 20 meters high (65 ft) and 15 meters wide (49 ft). The bridge connects what is now Serbia with Romania (at the time known as Dacia).
119 - Reign in Northern India by Nahapana, Scythian king. He attacks the kingdom of Andhra and annexes Southern Rajputana.
106 - Trajan defeats king Decebalus of Dacia (Romania). Dacia becomes a Roman province.
122 - Hadrian orders that a 72-mile (115-kilometer) wall be built in northern Britain. Hadrian's Wall, as it comes to be known, is intended to keep the Caledonians, Picts and other tribes at bay.
105 - The Romans conquer Kerak from the Nabateans.
115 - Jews in Egypt and Cyrene ignite a revolt (Kitos War) against the rule of the Roman Empire, which spreads to Cyprus, Judea, and the Roman province of Mesopotamia.
